How to Raise a Black Boy, by director Justice Jamal Jones, is an experimental fairytale dedicated to the modern black boy, in which four boys disappear one night, as many black boys do, and find themselves on a fantastical journey to break the curses of black boyhood.
the short has been programmed at Atlanta Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Outfest. it also received awards from Sundance Ignite Fellow 2021, Atlanta Film Festival: Filmmaker to Watch, Fusion Film Festival: Best Short, Focus Film festival: *Winner of Experimental Category, as well as press from:, NOWNESS Premiere, NoBudge release, and Native Son Now release.
